SALU Observes Kashmir Black Day in Solidarity with Kashmiris

SUKKUR, Oct 27 (APP):The Kashmir Society, a constituent body of the Students Societies Center (SSC) at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur on Monday observed Kashmir Black Day with a special event, reaffirming solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and their struggle for self-determination.
The event featured distinguished speakers, including Sarfraz Korejo, Dr. Ramzan Kolachi, Naseem Murad, and Syeda Shumaila Rubab Rizvi, who delivered insightful speeches on the Kashmir issue. Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Coordinator of the Students Societies Center, emphasized the importance of youth engagement and academic platforms in promoting peace, justice, and human rights.
The speakers recalled the historical significance of October 27, 1947, when Indian forces illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
The event concluded with a solidarity rally, where students carried banners and placards to express unity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Various departments of the University also organized seminars and rallies to mark the day and express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
The observance reflected the commitment of SALU students and faculty to raising their voices for peace, justice, and human rights in Kashmir, reaffirming the University’s dedication to fostering global awareness and solidarity through academic and student-led initiatives.
