SAFRON to demand Rs1.2 billion from ECC to clear Levies liabilities

ISLAMABAD, Apr 11 (APP):Ministry of States and Frontier Regions has prepared request to demand
Rs1.2 billion from Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in its next meeting to clear the pending liabilities of Levies and Khasadar Force of South Waziristan.

Talking to APP on Thursday, an official of SAFRON said that the salaries of Levies and Khasadar forces were pending since October 2018 due to non-availability of online bank accounts as per criteria prescribed by Accountant General Pakistan Revenue (AGPR).

Ministry already had granted employ rate expenditure of Rs730 million against the demanded amount of Rs1.9 billion to clear all the pending liabilities.

The official said that to clear all the liabilities against Levies and Khasadar force the request to release remaining amount of Rs1.2 billion out of Rs1.9 billion will be submitted to ECC.

The official further said that on April 2 cabinet has decided that from next finical year complete administrative and financial control will be transferred to government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said total strength of Levies and Khasadars is 74,569 which include 23,734 Federal Leavy, 5,816 Clerical Staff and 18,109 Khasadars.
