LAHORE, Apr 04 (APP):Punjab Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth on Saturday reviewed the situation in Murree following recent rains and noted that the C&W Department staff remained fully active in response to weather conditions, while minor landslides at four different locations were cleared in a timely manner.
He directed the authorities concerned to ensure continuous monitoring of landslide-prone areas on Murree roads and to keep the drainage system fully functional in order to effectively deal with any emergency situation.
The minister further instructed that all possible measures be taken to facilitate tourists visiting Murree and to ensure safe and smooth travel for the public at all times. He also issued directives to all field formations of the C&W Department regarding ongoing development projects, emphasizing that strict compliance with safety and quality standards must be ensured and no negligence or lapse would be tolerated.
Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth further ordered effective and continuous monitoring of all development schemes, directing that all safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) must be strictly implemented at project sites to ensure quality execution and public safety.
