Rubina Khalid visits PDMA Registration Point in Bara, reviews facilities for Tirah IDPs

ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (APP): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid Monday visited the Al-Haj Market PDMA Registration Point in Bara Khyber, where she met internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Tirah and reviewed the ongoing registration process for deserving women.
During the visit, the BISP Chairperson inspected the Mobile Registration Van (MRV) deployed at the site and interacted directly with women beneficiaries, said a news release received from Peshawar.
She listened to their concerns and directed the staff to ensure immediate resolution of complaints, emphasizing the need for proper guidance so that women face no inconvenience during registration.
Referring to the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Senator Rubina Khalid encouraged women to remain courageous and raise their voices against injustice.
She reaffirmed BISP’s commitment to supporting deserving families in difficult times and working tirelessly to ease their hardships.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by IDPs, she said that despite security concerns, she chose to visit the area to stand with the affected families. “Following the legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, it is my responsibility to be among the people, especially in times of pain and distress,” she remarked.
She informed that, in addition to registration services, facilities for obtaining Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and children’s B-Forms are also being provided on-site through the mobile unit, as these documents are essential for inclusion in the BISP programme.
Talking to media representatives, Senator Rubina Khalid said the purpose of her visit was to directly engage with women, understand their issues, and ensure effective solutions.
She clarified that women meeting the prescribed poverty score criteria would be included in BISP and receive all entitled benefits.
The Chairperson also inspected the medical camp set up at the registration point, reviewed the healthcare services being offered, and assured full cooperation in addressing related needs.
Director General BISP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Alaf Jan Afridi, was also present on the occasion.
