ISLAMABAD, Feb 05 (APP):Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support for the oppressed people of Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIoJK).
In her message, Senator Rubina Khalid said that Kashmir Solidarity Day is a day to renew the national commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for freedom.
She said the Kashmiris have been facing decades of oppression and brutalities, urging the international community to take serious notice of the ongoing human rights violations in the occupied territory.
She stressed that in line with the resolutions of the United Nations, the Kashmiri people must be granted their fundamental right to self-determination without any further delay.
Highlighting the consistent stance of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the BISP chairperson said the party has always extended full support to the Kashmir cause.
She recalled that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had rightly termed Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein,” while Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto raised the Kashmir issue effectively at international forums.
Senator Rubina Khalid further said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is actively raising the voice of the Kashmiri people on global platforms, while President Asif Ali Zardari continues to provide diplomatic support for the protection of Kashmiri rights.
She reiterated that the Pakistan Peoples Party would never abandon the Kashmiri people and would continue its democratic, constitutional and peaceful struggle in support of the Kashmir cause.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir, she said Kashmir Solidarity Day is also a day to honor their sacrifices.
She added that the Benazir Income Support Programme remains committed to its mission of protecting human dignity and fundamental rights, in line with the broader values of justice and compassion.
