ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP):Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, has paid rich tribute to the people of Kashmir on the occasion of Accession to Pakistan Day, acknowledging their continued struggle, sacrifices and unwavering spirit.
In her message on Saturday, Senator Rubina Khalid stated that on July 19, 1947, the people of Kashmir passed a resolution in favor of accession to Pakistan, a historic decision that reflected the deep-rooted emotional and ideological bond between Kashmir and Pakistan.
She emphasized that the people of Kashmir have always fought bravely for their rights and never bowed before oppression. Despite facing severe injustice and brutalities under Modi-led Indian rule, the Kashmiri people remain steadfast in their quest for freedom and self-determination, she expressed.
Senator Rubina Khalid highlighted the consistent efforts of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership in raising the Kashmir issue at the global level. She said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto always championed the cause of Kashmir internationally. This legacy has been carried forward by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, whose successful international engagements have amplified the voice of Kashmir on world forums.
Reaffirming the PPP’s unwavering support, she said the party stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Kashmir in their just struggle. “I salute the courage, resilience, and bravery of the Kashmiri people,” she said.
Senator Rubina Khalid added that Accession to Pakistan Day symbolized the eternal bond between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan.
