Rubina Khalid condemns attack on polio team in Noshki
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP):Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid on Wednesday strongly condemned the attack on a polio vaccination team in Noshki, in which two policemen deployed for the team’s security were martyred.
She expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of the two police personnel, identified as Muhammad Yasir and Abdul Rauf, who lost their lives while performing their duty to protect the polio team. The attack took place in Killi Jamalabad, Noshki, on Tuesday.
Senator Rubina Khalid paid tribute to the martyred policemen and said their sacrifice would always be remembered by the nation.
She said polio workers were performing a national duty to protect children and provide them with a safe and healthy future.
“Attacks on polio teams are, in fact, attacks on the safe future of Pakistan’s children,” she said.
The BISP Chairperson said terrorist elements would not succeed in undermining the national public health campaign, stressing that workers engaged in the eradication of polio and the security personnel protecting them were serving the nation.
She emphasized that the national campaign against polio must continue at all costs, as protecting children from the crippling disease was a collective responsibility.
Senator Rubina Khalid expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed that Allah Almighty may elevate the ranks of the martyrs and grant patience to their families.
She said the state and the nation were united against terrorism and would not allow elements hostile to peace to succeed in their nefarious designs.
