ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said an amount of Rs 9.988 billion was released to the law enforcement agencies for making security arrangements by deployment of adequate force inside and outside all the polling stations in the general election 2018.

The minister, in a written reply to the question of Ms Shahida Rehmani, told the National Assembly that the funds were provided for the activities of aviation fuel, operating and maintenance charges, development and maintenance of IT support structure, activation of reservists, Mujahid and Janbaz, and internal security allowance.
“However, micro details like scale of payment made to each official deputed for security of polling stations during the general election 2018 is not available with the Election Commission of Pakistan. Such details are being obtained from the Ministry of Defence,” he added
The minister said the security officials of police, Rangers, and FC under the federal or provincial governments as per routine were engaged by respective governments for election duty.
“As such the details of remuneration if so paid can be obtained from them. The Election Commission of Pakistan has not paid any remuneration to them,” he mentioned.
