Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has arrested a suspect for allegedly taking Rs4 million from a citizen on the promise of arranging a Luxembourg work visa and overseas employment.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP): Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has arrested a suspect for allegedly taking Rs4 million from a citizen on the promise of arranging a Luxembourg work visa and overseas employment.
According to FIA details, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad took action following Enquiry No. 544/2025, initiated on a complaint filed by Muhammad Yousuf.
The arrested suspect was identified as Waqar Akhtar, associated with Mir Consultancy.
The investigation found that Ammar Akhtar, Waqar Akhtar, Waqas Akhtar of Mir Consultancy and Salman Zaib allegedly worked together and promised the complainant a work visa for Luxembourg.
The suspects allegedly received Rs4 million through banking channels from the complainant for arranging the visa and overseas employment.
However, the promised work visa was not provided and the complainant was allegedly defrauded, the FIA said.
A case, FIR No. AHTC-ICT-837/2026, has been registered under Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance, 1979, read with Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Further investigation of Waqar Akhtar is underway, while efforts are being made to arrest the other nominated suspects and facilitators in the case.
The FIA said action would continue against those involved in human trafficking, illegal immigration and fraud in the name of overseas employment.
