RPO Dera reaffirms public safety, service as top priorities

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 25 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Syed Ashfaq Anwar on Tuesday said, addressing public issues, protecting lives and property, and promoting community service remain the foremost priorities of the police force.
He said this while presiding over a crime review meeting held here at the Police Club. The meeting discussed counter-crime strategies, terrorism-related cases, peace and security measures, public service delivery, welfare of police personnel, and administrative reforms aimed at improving the overall efficiency of the force.
DPO Dera Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, SP Investigation Shakeel Ahmed, SPs of City, Saddar and Paharpur, SDPOs of all circles, and all SHOs of the district attended the session.
A detailed review of the district’s law and order situation, crime trends, progress in terrorism cases, and the quality of investigations at police stations was presented. The participants also examined updates on pending trial cases in courts.
The RPO stressed that strong investigations are essential for successful prosecution and directed officers to use modern technology to ensure timely and effective inquiries. He also ordered the formation of special teams to accelerate the arrest of proclaimed offenders.
Emphasizing public welfare, he reminded officers that their core mission is to resolve citizens’ problems and ensure their safety. He called for full implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) to uphold the state’s writ and curb criminal activities, and directed that search-and-strike operations be made more effective.
He reaffirmed that the police will continue to utilise all available resources to maintain peace and enforce the principles of justice, merit, and accountability across the district.
