Romanian envoy calls on Ayaz Sadiq

ISLAMABAD, Jun 16 (APP):Ambassador of Romania, Dan Stoenescu Monday called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the Parliament House.
During the meeting, both sides held a detailed exchange of views on matters of mutual interest, including bilateral ties, parliamentary cooperation and the evolving regional situation.
Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan attached high importance to its longstanding and friendly relations with Romania, which were based on mutual respect, trust and shared interests.
He also said that vibrant  parliamentary cooperation would further strengthen bilateral collaboration.
Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan-Romania Friendship Group in the National Assembly had played a pivotal role in promoting substantive and enduring parliamentary engagement between the two parliaments.
He stressed the need for expanding cooperation in key sectors, including education, trade, industry and information technology.
Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan was actively seeking international partnerships in these areas and viewed Romania as a valuable partner.
The ambassador appreciated the Speaker’s views and acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to deepen bilateral ties.
He said Romania attached great value to its relations with Pakistan and was keen to further develop collaboration in the parliamentary, academic, and economic domains.
Ayaz Sadiq lauded Pakistan’s progress in the IT sector and underlined the importance of fostering direct institutional linkages between the two parliaments, saying such efforts would not only reinforce bilateral relations but also strengthen democratic norms across the region.
The ambassador also noted that Pakistan’s parliamentary diplomacy continued to play a constructive role in promoting regional peace and development.
He expressed Romania’s willingness to benefit from Pakistan’s experience and explore avenues for mutual cooperation.
It was agreed that parliamentary exchanges between the two countries would be further enhanced and joint efforts would be undertaken to pursue shared objectives.
Both sides expressed readiness to facilitate the exchange of high-level parliamentary delegations in the future.
