Newly appointed Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has said that propaganda against the state or any state institution would not be allowed, directing officers across the country to take strict legal action in accordance with the law against those involved.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP):Newly appointed Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has said that propaganda against the state or any state institution would not be allowed, directing officers across the country to take strict legal action in accordance with the law against those involved.
An official told APP on Wednesday that Rizvi issued the directions during his first meeting with NCCIA directors, additional directors, deputy directors and assistant directors from across Pakistan soon after assuming charge as the agency’s Director General.
During the meeting, the DG Rizvi outlined his priorities and directed officers to strengthen action against cybercrime and other illegal activities on social media and the internet.
Rizvi also directed strict action against online harassment of women, saying the use of abusive language against women on social media or any attempt to harass them would not be tolerated.
He said those posting abusive or objectionable content against women would face strict action under the law.
The DG Rizvi announced zero tolerance for corruption and dishonesty within the NCCIA, telling officers that anyone found involved in corrupt practices would face action.
He also ordered strong action against illegal call centres across Pakistan, saying such operations would not be allowed to continue. Officers who failed to take timely action against illegal call centres operating in their areas would also be held accountable, he warned.
Rizvi directed NCCIA formations to intensify action against skimming, illegal online activities, gambling applications and illegal call centres.
To make the agency more accessible to citizens, the DG said the NCCIA was being linked with the nationwide 15 emergency helpline, enabling cybercrime-related calls received on 15 to be immediately forwarded to the agency. Universal contact numbers would also be provided to citizens for easier access to NCCIA services.
The DG Rizvi also ordered daily monitoring of officers’ performance, saying the work of every officer would be reviewed after every 24 hours and performance appraisal would be based on their work.
He further directed officers to intensify cyber patrolling to continuously monitor criminal activities on social media platforms and the internet and take legal action against those involved.
Rizvi also ordered the early disposal of pending cases, directing officers to improve their response to public complaints and ensure timely action against cybercrime.
