LAHORE, Oct 25 (APP): Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue
1122) Director General Brig (r) Dr Arshad Zia appreciated
rescuers over performing duties well across
the Punjab during Ashura.
Presiding over a meeting at Rescue 1122 Headquarters here
on Sunday, he said the PES had provided first aid to 24,289
injured mourners and shifted 211 to different hospital.
The Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC) briefed that as per
emergency contingency plans, over 5,000 rescuers were deployed
across the province with 200 ambulances, 96 fire
vehicles and 33 emergency vehicles to provide emergency cover
to 442 mourning processions and 339 majalis in Punjab.
The PMC briefed that 618 rescue posts were also
set up at sensitive points comprising two emergency
medical technicians and medical kits.
