ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (APP):Senior Journalist Ashfaq Sajid, working with Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), breathed his last at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi after brief illness on Wednesday.
The deceased, former president of Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ), prominent leader of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad, was diagnosed with blood cancer almost two week ago.
Earlier, he was shifted to the CMH Rawalpindi from CMH Lahore due to serious illness.
Journalist community expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Ashfaq Sajid and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
Time and venue for funeral/burial of the deceased would be announced later.
