Remaining amount of net hydel profit to be paid to KPK in current year: Senate told

ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (APP):Minister for Water Resources Syed Javed Ali Shah Thursday informed the Senate that remaining amount on account of net hydel profit to Khyber-Pakhtunkhaw would be paid during the current year.
Presenting periodical report on the recommendation of the committees on 24 demands made by KPK government, the minister said an agreement was signed between the finance ministry and the provincial government for payment of net hydel profit.
Under the new agreement, four installments have already been paid to KPK government while the remaining amount would be paid this year on the directives of the Prime Minister, he said.
State Minister Power Division Abid Sher Ali told the House that new energy policy would be announced soon. Consultation was being carried out with all stakeholders including the provinces, he said.
He said some provinces have also sent their recommendations.
