ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, at his office on Thursday.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations, interfaith harmony, religious and cultural cooperation, and matters of mutual interest.
The meeting was also attended by Religious Affairs Attache, Dr. Abdurrahman Akkus, Country Head of TIKA Pakistan, Saliha Tuna, and a representative of the Turkish Red Crescent (Turk Kizilay).
During the discussion, the Minister highlighted the deep-rooted historical, religious, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
He stated that both nations are bound not only through diplomatic relations but also through shared values, spiritual heritage, and the teachings of Sufi saints, which continue to connect their peoples in strong bonds of friendship and mutual respect.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf praised Turkiye’s leadership for its efforts toward peace and stability in the Middle East.
He also briefed the Turkish envoy on Pakistan’s stance and contributions toward peace efforts, acknowledging the role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir in promoting regional stability.
The Minister emphasized the need to promote the teachings of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), particularly in the current global environment.
He stressed the importance of guiding the younger generation towards Islamic values, moderation, tolerance, and moral character to build a peaceful and balanced society.
Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu appreciated the long-standing fraternal relations between Turkiye and Pakistan, describing them as a valuable asset for both nations.
He said that the Government of Türkiye considers Pakistan’s stability and progress as integral to the strength of the wider Muslim Ummah.
He further stated that Turkiye continues to extend cooperation to Pakistan in various sectors, noting that more than 700 welfare and development projects have been completed across the country.
The ambassador also lauded Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the Middle East, stating that unity and cooperation among Muslim countries are essential to address shared global challenges.
Representatives of the Turkish delegation reaffirmed Turkiye’s commitment to standing by the people of Pakistan in all difficult times, describing it as a matter of duty and brotherhood.
Both sides expressed the desire to further strengthen relations at governmental and people-to-people levels and to advance shared goals of development, prosperity, and regional cooperation.
