ISLAMABAD, June 17 (APP): The release of two more Ukrainian hostages from Russian imprisonment will lead to implementation of Minsk agreement and resolution of the dispute between Russia and Ukrain.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Pakistan Volodymyr Lakomov said this while welcoming the decision of the Russian government to release two Ukrainian hostages namely Gennadiy Afanasyev and Yuriy Soloshenko according to a statement issued here on Friday.

The Ambassador hoped that a total 26 Ukrainian still hostages in Russia would be released soon.

“We are grateful to all international partners for their
continued support of our efforts in releasing Ukrainian citizens”, the envoy said.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomed Ukrainian
citizens with their safe return to home and emphasized that Ukraine would continue its for the release of remaining hostages, the statement said.

The Ukrainian President also noted that the release of two
more political prisoners from Russia was made possible due to the Minsk agreement.

Both the hostages who were released by the Russian government remained a total 767 days in the custody of Russia, the statement concluded.
