ISLAMABAD, Feb 2 (APP):Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has expressed deep sorrow over the sad demise of Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in his condolence message addressed to the bereaved family, the Government of AJK, and the people of the region, stated that the death of Barrister Sultan Mahmood is an irreparable loss for his family and for Azad Jammu and Kashmir, creating a significant void in the region’s political landscape.
He said that whether in government or opposition, the late leader maintained contact regarding the ongoing political developments and remained committed to raising awareness about the Kashmir dispute at international forums. Prior to his illness, he actively campaigned across Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, to promote political and diplomatic awareness about the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, he added.
Rehmani said that the late leader believed in mobilizing overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris, and advocating the Kashmir cause in international corridors of power in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and commitments made by the concerned parties.
He further said that with his passing, the responsibility now rests upon his successors in government and party ranks to continue efforts toward a peaceful and just resolution of the lingering dispute.
Rehmani prayed to Allah Almighty to  grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannah and give strength and patience to his family, friends, and admirers to bear this great loss.
