Rana Sanaullah expresses gratitude to Saudi Arabia for flood relief assistance

ISLAMABAD, Aug 20 (APP): Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah has extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Saudi Ambassador for providing crucial assistance to Pakistan in the wake of devastating floods.

In a press briefing here at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Sanaullah acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s long-standing support for Pakistan during difficult times, emphasizing that the Kingdom has consistently stood by Pakistan in times of need.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Said Al-Maliki, Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Yasir Pirzada and other officials were also present on the occasion.

It may be mentioned that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has dispatched a large-scale emergency relief convoy to support victims of the recent flash floods and cloudbursts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The convoy comprises 10,000 shelter kits and as many food packages for the flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Each Shelter Kit includes shelter, solar panels with LED lights, two thermal blankets, plastic mats, durable kitchen sets, water coolers, and antibacterial soap. Each Food Package, weighing 95 kilograms, contains wheat flour, sugar, lentils, and cooking oil, carefully designed to address the immediate nutritional needs of families.

He thanked the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia government, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan for the assistance and long-standing support for Pakistan in difficult times.

The Government of Pakistan has expressed deep appreciation for the cooperation extended by Saudi Arabia and other friendly countries, he said.
He also highlighted the Prime Minister’s visit to the affected districts, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of those impacted by the floods.

Sanaullah, who also holds the portfolio of the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), assured that the assistance will continue until complete restoration is achieved to the flood affectees. The distribution of relief goods will be carried out jointly by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), district administration, and the KP government.
