ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Qasim Noon, on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support to Kashmiris on every international forum diplomatically, morally, and in every way possible.
Addressing to Kashmir Black Day rally at D-Chowk, he condemned India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, marking this date as a reminder of India’s ongoing presence in the region.
“No matter where we are, whether in Pakistan or across the globe, Black Day is being observed to highlight India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir since October 27”.
Noon also highlighted the militarized nature of Indian-Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), describing it as the largest military zone in the world, where over 1 million Indian troops are deployed.
“The human rights violations, including civil, cultural, and religious repression in IIOJK, cannot be ignored. I urge the international community and the United Nations to recognize the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as stipulated in UN Security Council resolutions,” he added.
Reflecting on recent developments, Noon emphasized Pakistan’s diplomatic gains in isolating India internationally.
He pointed to the heightened global attention on Kashmir following the events of May 10, noting Pakistan’s strong response to India and the demonstration of its military strength.
“The Armed Forces of Pakistan have set a commendable example of valor, and I salute the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for the response,” said Noon.
He also paid tribute to the late Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, for his unwavering struggle for the rights of Kashmir.
Noon called for the immediate release of Hurriyat Conference leaders, underscoring that Kashmir must not remain under Indian occupation.
“I strongly condemn the actions of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government. It is time for the resolution of the Kashmir issue, as peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without addressing the matter of IIOJK. Kashmir is not part of India, it time that Kashmir becomes a part of Pakistan,” Noon said.
