Rally in Islamabad Marks Kashmir Solidarity Day, calls for UN-backed resolution

ISLAMABAD, Feb 05 (APP):A rally was held in the federal capital on Thursday to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, with participants expressing support for the people of Kashmir and calling for a peaceful resolution of the longstanding dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The rally, organised from China Chowk to D-Chowk, was led by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam.
Hurriyat representatives, political figures and a large number of citizens participated, carrying banners and placards highlighting solidarity with Kashmiris.
Speakers at the rally emphasised the need for continued international attention on the Kashmir issue and urged the global community to facilitate a peaceful settlement in line with UN commitments.
They reiterated Pakistan’s continued moral, political and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people.
Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed annually on February 5 across Pakistan to express support for Kashmiris and to draw attention to the unresolved status of the disputed region.
