Rabbani assumes acting president's charge, grieves over flood damages

ISLAMABAD, July 4 (APP): Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani
Monday assumed the responsibilities of the acting president upon his
return from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah.

“The Chairman Senate has arrived in the morning after performing the Umrah and taken charge of the acting president,” said a press release issued by the Senate secretariat.

Meanwhile, the acting president expressed grief and sorrow over the damages caused by recent flood in Chitral and sympathised with the affected family.

He directed all the departments concerned to extend every all possible asssistance to the flood-affected families.

He also strongly condemned the bomb attack in the Iraqi city of Baghdad. He said that terrorism was an international issue and it
should be eliminated with coordinate and united efforts to protect
lives and property of the people.

Expressing sympathy with the citizen of Iraq, he said “we are stadnding by the people of Iraq in the hour of grief.
