Qureshi meets Tajik counterpart; assures early completion of CASA-1000 project

ISLAMABAD, Mar 21 (APP): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi Monday held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhridinovich wherein he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to early completion of flagship project of CASA-1000 .

During the meeting, held here on the sidelines of 48th Session of the OIC Council Foreign Ministers, the foreign minister emphasized to promote trade and economic linkages with Tajikistan.

The two ministers expressed satisfaction at the steadily growing bilateral ties and exchanged views on further expanding the partnership.

Qureshi apprised his Tajik counterpart about Pakistan’s Vision Central Asia policy that focused on enhanced and result-oriented engagements with Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan.

They also discussed the fast-evolving regional situation, especially Afghanistan and committed to work together for the establishment of sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan. 

The two sides noted the excellent cooperation between the two countries at international and regional forums, including in the UN, OIC, SCO & ECO. The Tajik side appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to OIC.
