ISLAMABAD, Nov 13 (APP):The Qul ceremony of senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and distinguished intellectual Senator Irfan Siddiqui was held at his residence in Islamabad, where family members, ministers, political leaders, and a large number of admirers gathered to pay their respects.
Prominent personalities including senior journalists, columnists, relatives, and people from diverse walks of life attended the Quran Khakwani and collective prayers.
Participants paid glowing tributes to Senator Siddiqui’s scholarly, literary, journalistic, and political contributions. They remembered him as a man of wisdom, compassion, and thoughtful insight, who played a vital role in raising social awareness through his writings and parliamentary service.
Renowned religious scholar Hafiz Naseem Khalil led the prayers, beseeching Allah Almighty to elevate the ranks of the late senator, grant him forgiveness, and bless his family with patience.
Addressing the gathering, Hafiz Naseem Khalil described Senator Siddiqui as a devoted follower of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), noting that his deep love and reverence for Allah Almighty and His Last Messenger (PBUH) were reflected in his literary works, particularly his acclaimed book Makkah Madinah.
Condolences continue to pour in for the bereaved family following Senator Siddiqui’s passing on November 11 at a local hospital in Islamabad after a prolonged illness. He was 82.
Senator Siddiqui is survived by his sons, Imran Siddiqui and Nauman Siddiqui, his brothers, and other family members. His demise is being mourned as the end of an era, with many describing him as a visionary intellectual, distinguished journalist, and patriotic political leader whose contributions left a lasting imprint on Pakistan’s intellectual and political landscape.
