QUETTA, Oct 24 (APP): Unknown armed men reportedly attacked
Police Training Center Quetta late Monday night and at least five police recruits were injured in the firing.
According to police sources, the unidentified gunmen entered the police training center and started indiscriminate firing.
The attackers had entered the hostel of police recruits and taken them hostage on gunpoint, they added.
Over 200 recruits were present at the hostel who were getting
professional training at the center. “Around five terrorists entered the police training center and they have made police recruits hostage, the sources said.
The Police Training Center, which is spread over an acre of land,
is located around 13 kilometers off Quetta.
The law enforcement agencies personnel, meanwhile, rushed to the
scene and cordoned off police training center. Firing between law enforcement personnel and the terrorists was underway till filing
of this news story.
Three bomb blasts were also reportedly heard in the area.
Emergency was declared at city’s hospitals. Doctors and paramedic
were called in. More information are awaited.
Meanwhile, according to an ISPR spokesman, contingents of army and Frontier Corps have reached the Police Training Centre to take charge
of the situation, where about six terrorists had barged their entry.
