ISLAMABAD, Mar 15 (APP):Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, has urged affluent members of Parliament and Cabinet ministers to contribute their salaries to the national exchequer in view of the country’s economic situation.
Talking to the media outside Parliament yesterday, the Minister emphasized that lawmakers should demonstrate a spirit of selflessness to provide relief to the public. He revealed that, as a Federal Minister, he has been performing his duties voluntarily for the past 24 months without receiving any salary or perks.
Advising his colleagues to donate their salaries with the same spirit, he stated that he believes his fellow members are patriotic and will certainly play their part in this national cause.
