KHEWRA, Oct 5 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Friday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government wanted to introduce a transparent governance system in the country.
“We want to bring in the system which will be much better than the previous one and many steps have been taken to achieve the objective ,” he said while addressing a ceremony organized to ensure clean drinking water to the residents of Khewra.
The PTI government, he said, was taking forward a transparent and across the board accountability process.
The minister said the country’s debt had been increased to Rs 28,000 billion from Rs 6,000 billion during the tenures of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz governments.
He said the PTI government was a business friendly government. It wanted to provide a conducive environment to businessmen and investors. The government was in fact interested in promoting investment rather than in seeking seeking loans, he added.
He said it was a matter of pleasure that foreign countries were showing interest in investing in Pakistan. Saudi Arabia had inked a big agreement to make huge investment in various sectors, he added.
Later, the information minister inaugurated the campus of a group of private colleges at Pind Dadan Khan.
