PESHAWAR, Aug 25 (APP): Minister of State for Water and
Power, Abid Sher on Ali Thursday said PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was indifferent to acquire land for establishment of new grid stations and intentional delay would serve nothing but increase miseries of people.
Addressing a press conference at WAPDA House, he said that
federal government under the dynamic leader of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was making incessant efforts to end loadshedding in the country by March 2018 but conversely PTI government was busy in politicking over the issue.
He alleged that due to PTI government’s indifferent attitude,
“We are unable to achieve our target in power sector.”
He said that federal government would not be held responsible for loadshedding if new grid stations were not installed in Chakdarra and Nowshera due to unavailability of land.

been transferred to KP for new grid stations but the land acquisition was yet to be initiated.
He outrightly rejected allegations that federal government
has gobbled up 600 MW electricity of KP province and said the Federation is sincere to help out PTI government to overcome energy crises.
He said that fund transaction has also been completed for
500 KVA Grid Station in Peshawar but the lukewarm attitude of KP government was affecting the pace of project.
Abid Sher Ali said the federal government had initiated
many power generation projects including Neelum Jehlum, Dasu, Bhasa Diamer, Qadir Pur, Sahiwal in the country that would help ending loadshedding by 2018.
He informed that 80 percent work on Neelum Jehlum power
generation project has been completed and soon new transmission lined would be installed.
Qadirpur and Shaiwal coal based power generation projects
would be completed in record period of 27 months as part of efforts to end loadshedding by 2018.
He said that federal government was sincere to overcome
energy crises in the country and was always ready to extend its cooperation and help to KP government in this regard.
To a question regarding power pilferage in KP, the Minister
questioned that how the issue could be addressed when relatives of KP CM were allegedly involved in this crime.
Criticizing the PTI government’s performance in KP, he
said what the Federation has delivered so far was clear to everyone while the leaders of PTI were diverting attention of people from their own poor performance by staging sit in and politicizing the non issues.
