PTI govt committed to purge corruption: Sarwar

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (APP):Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government, working under the dynamic vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, was fully committed to purge corruption from the society.

He said the people had given mandate to PTI, for eliminating menace of corruption and to achieve speedy development targets set by the present government after coming into power in 2018 elections.
Talking to a private TV channel, the governor said the corruption was the route cause creating the challenges for the institutions.
He stated the government, in order to address the key issue, had launched the accountability process in the country without discrimination.
The rule of law, he said, would be ensured to gain prosperity for the masses of the country.
To a question, the governor said after the 18th amendment, all the powers had been transferred to the provinces, adding that it was, now the responsibility of the provinces to shift these powers to local levels so that visible changes could be observed without facing any difficulty.
He said the PTI government was trying to implement the local government system and for this, “devolution of powers” would be a step forward to address the issues.
He was of the view that 70 years old problems could not be resolved within a few months. Chaudhry Sarwar said that with collective efforts and coordination of the political forces, the challenges or targets of poverty alleviation, employment, tax network besides strong economy could be achieved in a befitting manner.
The PTI government wanted to provide clean drinking water, equal educational facility for all children living in any parts of the country, job opportunities for youth, houses for shelter-less people before completing its tenure. The promises made with the people during election campaign would be fulfilled, he assured.
In reply to a question, he said Saudi Arabia and UAE had extended the financial assistance to Pakistan, adding that some foreign companies were visiting Pakistan for exploring business venues.
The governor said the companies showed the confidence in the present leadership and flexible policies of the present government.
The conducive and peaceful environment, he said, had been ensured for attracting foreign investors to this country.
Commenting on Sahiwal incident, he said the Punjab government would take all possible steps for providing justice to the victims family.
He said that children of the victims family, would have full support of the Punjab government, for completing education and other necessities of life.
