PTI government committed to provide proper legal cover to protect rights of journalists and media workers: Firdous

KARACHI, Jul 22 (APP):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan here on Monday said, an efficient legislative cover may soon be provided to the workers, pertaining to electronic and print media, to prevent their exploitation in any manner.

Addressing the executive committee members of Karachi Press Club, she said that PTI government firmly believed in the independence of the media and empowerment of the journalists as well as workers associated with the media industry.

“Reforms are being incorporated in the existing laws so that neither the owners may exploit the workers nor the workers could abuse their rights,” she said.
