ISLAMABAD, Sep 03 (APP):The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned the public against a fake notification circulating on social media regarding calls from a particular phone number.
The notification, which carries the PTA logo, advises people not to answer calls from 051-7080507.
The fake notification claims that responding to such calls could put funds in mobile wallets, including Easypaisa and other mobile accounts, at risk.
The PTA clarified that it had not issued any such alert and described the circulating notification as false and misleading.
The authority urged the public not to share or rely on unverified information circulating on social media.
The PTA advised citizens to follow its official social media accounts for authentic and verified information.
