ISLAMABAD, Dec 25 (APP):A leading psychiatrist Thursday warned of rising ‘Mental Stress’ among youth, urging families, schools and media outlets to raise awareness, provide support and promote a culture of mental well-being to safeguard the emotional and academic future of the younger generation.
While speaking with a local media channel, Dr Uzma Ali, a psychiatrist, voiced serious concern over the rising mental stress among youth, warning that if left unaddressed, it could severely affect their emotional well-being, academic performance and overall future prospects.
She emphasized that mental health challenges are escalating rapidly, making early detection and intervention crucial.Dr Uzma Ali explained that families and friends should remain vigilant for warning signs such as loneliness, lack of interest, laziness, persistent negativity, loss of pleasure in life and even suicide attempts.
She stressed that recognizing these symptoms early can save lives and provide timely support to those struggling with psychological pressure.
She also highlighted the important role of schools in addressing mental health issues, urging the inclusion of mental health education in the curriculum to help students manage stress and develop coping strategies.
According to her, educating youth about emotional well-being from an early age is essential for building resilience and preventing long-term psychological consequences.
