ISLAMABAD, Jun 13 (APP):The federal government has earmarked Rs 368.671 million under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2026-27 for the ongoing project of constructing buildings for 13 Regional Passport Offices across Sindh province to improve passport service delivery and public access to immigration facilities.
According to Budgetry documents, the project was approved by the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) on May 25, 2021, and is being implemented by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.
The total cost of the project stands at Rs 915.478 million, of which Rs 546.807 million had been spent up to June 30, 2026. The remaining throw-forward liability has been estimated at Rs 368.671 million as of July 1, 2026.
The allocation for fiscal year 2026-27 covers the entire remaining cost of the project and is expected to facilitate its completion.
The project aims to strengthen passport issuance infrastructure in Sindh by providing purpose-built facilities for regional passport offices, improving operational efficiency and enhancing public service delivery.
The initiative is among the ongoing schemes focused on modernizing passport services and expanding access to immigration and identification facilities across the country.
