PS&DC tightens drug sale licence checks

Pharmacists applying for Drug Sale Licences in Islamabad have been directed to disclose their existing and previous professional engagements across Pakistan, with violations liable to invite legal and regulatory action.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (APP):Pharmacists applying for Drug Sale Licences in Islamabad have been directed to disclose their existing and previous professional engagements across Pakistan, with violations liable to invite legal and regulatory action.
The Pharmacy Services and Drug Control (PS&DC), Islamabad Capital Territory, issued the directive through an advisory, requiring pharmacists and other qualified persons to truthfully declare all relevant professional engagements associated with drug sale licences and comply with applicable laws.
The department said it would strictly verify the information provided by applicants by cross-checking records with relevant drug regulatory authorities and Pharmacy Councils.
It warned that concealment, misrepresentation, false declarations or unlawful multiple professional engagements could result in rejection of applications, cancellation of licences where warranted, and referral to the concerned Pharmacy Council for disciplinary proceedings, as appropriate.
