ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (APP): A delegation of Pakistan Ship Breaker Association (PSBA) on Wednesday called on Federal Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain.
The Minister stressed the delegation to ensure foolproof security and precautionary measures at shipyard Gadani to protect the lives of laborers in future.
He expressed sorrow and regret over the deaths at Gadani in a recent incident, says a press release.
The participants on the occasion offered ‘Fateha’ for the departed souls.
Chairman Pakistan Ship Breakers Association, Diwan Rizwan Farooqi requested the Minister to ask Balochistan government to lift the section 144 in the area.
He said that it had stopped all business activities at Gadani shipyard, which was causing huge loss to them and also the laborers.
The Association said that the inquiry report of the incident of Gadani should be shared with them so that they would take precautionary measures to avoid such incident in future.
The delegation also announced financial assistance for the victim families of the incident.
