Protesters condemn genocide of Kashmiris, urge UN to intervene

ISLAMABAD, Apr 2 (APP):Protest demonstrators here Monday condemned, in strong terms, the cold blooded murder of 20 Kashmiri youth by Indian occupation forces during a single day on Sunday in Shopian district of occupied Kashmir, besides injuring hundreds of others and damaging property of millions of rupees.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Azad Kashmir Chapter had organized the protest demonstration in front of the National Press Club (NPC) to condemn this gory act of violence against Kashmiris.
The protest among others was attended by Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Haider Farooq, leaders of APHC, and members from civil society.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Haider Farooq said that India with a well-planned strategy was killing new generation of Kashmiris, however expressed resolve that its nefarious designs to suppress Kashmiris would be frustrated.
He urged Pakistan to raise its voice against killing of Kashmiris at the United Nations (UN) through its envoys to help stop this fresh wave of genocide.
He underlined the need for resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions to put an end to the decades-long issue and bring relief into the lives of Kashmiris.
He expressed support for Kashmiris freedom struggle, adding that Kashmiris of both the sides of Line of Control were united to take the struggle to its logical end.
Speaking on the occasion, Convener APHC, Azad Kashmir Chapter, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, while lamenting the death of 20 youth in Shopian said that India had crossed all the limits of morality and humanity.
Speaking on the occasion, other speakers said that due to the use of pellet guns, Indian forces have blinded and injured thousands of Kashmiris, besides arresting thousands others under the black laws.
They said that India had not only given licences to its forces to kill Kashmiris, but was also proving its forces innocent by giving them protection under the black laws.
The speakers expressed shock over the killing of 20 youth in Shopian district of occupied Kashmir, which had sadden all the nation.
They were of the view that India through its forces was not only indulging in genocide of Kashmirs but was also molesting women. However, they said, despite all these odds and oppression by Indian occupation forces, India failed to suppress voice of Kashmiris for freedom.
They said that Kashmiris were determined to carry forward their struggle against Indian occupation and for right to self-determination, come what may adding that they had pledged that they would not let the blood of martyrs go waste.
