ISLAMABAD, Jul 02 (APP):Several prominent political figures from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) formally joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in a meeting with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here.
Secretary General Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Nayyar Bukhari, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, General Secretary of PPP AJK Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Zia Qamar and Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz were also present during the meeting.
Bilawal Bhutto warmly welcomed former Prime Minister of AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and current Adviser to Prime Minister of AJK, Sardar Sagheer, into the PPP fold.
The meeting also included AJK Legislative Assembly member Ali Shan Soni and former PTI member Rafiq Nayyar, both of whom announced their allegiance to PPP.
Minister for Transport in AJK Javed Butt, Kashmir Council member Sardar Adnan Sayab and Umar Tanveer Ilyas also met with the PPP Chairman.
Bilawal Bhutto extended a warm welcome to all new entrants from AJK, reaffirming the party’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and representing the voices of Kashmiris.
“You have represented the cause of Kashmir across the world. We are grateful to you,” said Bilawal Bhutto during his conversation with Sardar Tanveer Ilyas.
In response, the Kashmiri leaders praised Bilawal for presenting Kashmir’s case before the international community with great conviction and clarity.
