ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday said he was “deeply saddened” by the passing of Pakistan’s renowned nuclear scientist Dr A Q Khan, who breathed his last earlier in the day.
Prime Miniter Imran Khan in a message on Twitter said Dr A Q Khan “was loved by our nation bec[ause] of his critical contribution in making us a nuclear weapon state.”
The Prime Minister said the contribution of Dr A Q Khan in this regard “has provided us security against an aggressive much larger nuclear neighbour.”
“For the people of Pakistan he was a national icon,” the Prime Minister said.
Imran Khan respecting the wishes of the ace scientist of the country said “He will be buried in Faisal Mosque as per his wishes. My condolences & prayers go to his family.”
