The president described Hashmi as one of the prominent artists of the golden era of Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television, acknowledging his enduring legacy in radio, television, theatre and film, a condolence message issued from the Presidency said.

President Zardari particularly highlighted Hashmi’s memorable performance in the iconic drama serial Waris, saying his timeless acting in the classic production would always be remembered by audiences.

He noted that the late artist played an important role in promoting Pakistan’s national cultural heritage through his work across multiple artistic platforms, leaving a lasting impact on the country’s entertainment industry.

“The artistic services of Shujaat Hashmi will always remain alive in history,” the president said, adding that the nation had lost a talented and dedicated performer.

President Zardari also prayed for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, wishing them strength and patience in this difficult time.
