ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday said clean politics was the hallmark of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and throughout his struggle for a homeland for Muslims, he never violated the law of the land.
He was addressing a photo exhibition in connection with the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The President urged the young generation to seek guidance from his life and learn how he overcame the obstacles and defeated his opponents by upholding the law.
The President said a vibrant nation enriches its present and learns from its history, life and teachings of its leaders.
Keeping this in view, the President said, he directed holding of an exhibition of photographs of the founder of the nation, paintings and books.
He said the objective was to inculcate in the young generation knowledge about their great leaders, their challenges and how they created a new country, despite onerous difficulties.
The President said the Quaid was a well dressed person, who used to don a pristine wrinkle-less dress and added such dresses were only worn by people, who were straightforward and had a clear conscience.
He said great people can be judged by their demeanour and their high character.
He said it was with this regard that great nations preservewritings, photographs and documents related to their great leaders, with the sole objective of keeping it safe for the future generations.
The President urged the young generation to focus on their studies, and asked the parents and teachers to give due attention to their upbringing and education of the youth.
He said Pakistan’s initial growth was at a steep trajectory and countries like Korea followed it as a model, however unfortunately the country could not keep up the pace, owing to corruption and slackness.
The President asked the young generation to have faith in the current government and support it in its endeavours for progress and development.
He said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would usher in an era of progress as new industries would be setup
and more job opportunities would be created.
He attributed the CPEC as a historic landmark achievement of the century saying it would change the destiny of the country. He said the new energy projects would either completely eliminate loadshedding from the country by 2018, or it would be negligible.
The President urged the youth to join him in the “Jehad” against corruption, so as to completely eliminate this curse.
He also called for more focus on education of the girls, as half of the population comprises women and they would contribute more significantly in country’s development, if they participated more actively in nation’s progress.
Secretary Cabinet Division Raja Ahsan Abbas briefed the participants about the photographs, documents and books on Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He said holding of such an exhibition at the President House reflected the love of President Mamnoon Hussain for the founder of the nation.
He said keeping in view this affection of the President with the Quaid has prompted the National Archives to use modern technology to preserve precious documents.
The President later inaugurated the exhibition and evinced keen interest in the documents, books and photographs put on display. A large number of students also witnessed the exhibition and showed great interest in the exhibits of the great leader who created a new homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
