ISLAMABAD, Aug 27 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday paid tribute to the security forces for successfully conducting an operation against terrorists in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In separate statements, the president and the prime minister commended the security forces for killing 11 terrorists during the operation.
They reiterated their resolve to completely eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and ensure lasting peace and stability.
President Zardari said the elimination of terrorists backed by “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” was inevitable to safeguard national security and ensure sustainable peace.
He said the nation took pride in the successes and professional capabilities of the security forces and law enforcement agencies.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation stood firmly with the security forces in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged their sacrifices and continued efforts to protect the country.
