President, PM discuss overall situation of country

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif called on President Mamnoon Hussain here Wednesday and discussed the overall situation in the country.
The meeting that took place at Aiwan-e-Sadr focused on economy, China Pakistan Economic Corridor, energy projects, law and order, and situation on Line of Control, Working Boundary and in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The Prime Minister apprised the President on the policies and initiatives of the government in various sectors to put the country on the path to sustainable progress and improve living standard of the people by strengthening national economy, a President House statement said issued here.
President Mamnoon Hussain praised the economic policies of the government resulting into revival of national economy and benefits of progress being passed on to the common man.
The President expressed his satisfaction over the confidence reposed by international financial institutions on economic success of the government and improvement in economic fundamentals.
The President and the Prime Minister reaffirmed that the government would continue to accord top priority to its agenda of economic progress throughout the country and called upon all segments of society to support the government in timely completion of all development projects.
Both expressed their resolve to ensure smooth and timely completion of CPEC projects which would be a harbinger of unprecedented economic prosperity in Pakistan as well as in regional countries.
They emphasized that CPEC would equally benefit all areas of the country and hoped that the country would be rid of electricity load-shedding upon completion of energy projects by 2018.
The President and Prime Minister reviewed results of Zarb-e-Azb operation and expressed their satisfaction at the successes achieved and resolved that the operation would continue in all areas of the country against all miscreants and terrorists without any discrimination in order to achieve lasting peace.
They commended the supreme sacrifices of the armed forces, police and law enforcement personnel in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
The President and Prime Minister also reviewed the regional situation and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to maintain friendly relations with all neighboring countries for peace and prosperity in the region.
They condemned the atrocities being perpetrated against the innocent Kashmiris in IOK and continued violations on Line of Control by India and urged the international community to help put an end to grave human rights violations and resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions.
