President lauds Pakistan Scouts for serving nation

ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday said that Pakistan Scouts have rendered commendable services for the country and fulfilled their responsibility during calamities.

He said it was such a passion on the basis of which the Founder of Pakistan accepted the leadership of scout movement.

The President said that today he was very proud to become a part of scout movement by following the footsteps of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The President was addressing the investiture ceremony of Pakistan Scouts at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, said a press release.

During the ceremony, President Mamnoon Hussain took oath of the office as 15th Chief Scout of Pakistan from Ms. Rahila Durrani, Chief Commissioner Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (PBSA).

The President said that as followers of Quaid-e-Azam, it was their responsibility to deeply study his life, knowing the characteristics of his personality, owing to which he was included in the list of world’s greatest statesmen.

He noted that after its creation, Pakistan scouts rendered admirable services in Muhajireen camps, besides they always came up to the expectations of the people during every calamity.

The President also praised the services of Pakistan Scouts in the last few years during natural disasters and tree plantation campaigns etc.

He said that the present government was giving priority to enhance energy generation, improve law and order situation and upgrade education and health sectors.

“It is my desire that young scouts should play their role in this national struggle and particularly play a frontline role in curbing corruption,” he remarked.

The President noted that activities of Pakistan Scouts Cadet College for promoting quality education were ample proof of their commitment for which he paid tribute to them.

He hoped that they would continue playing excellent role in every sector of life just like they did in the past.

Earlier, Chief Commissioner PBSA Ms. Raheela Durrani also addressed the ceremony.

Governor/Chief Scout Punjab Rafique Rajwana, Governor/Chief Scout Gilgit-Baltistan Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and senior officials attended the ceremony.
