ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on
Friday congratulated Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on the country’s
upgradation to Emerging Markets status.
In a telephonic call to the Finance Minister, the President
noted with appreciation that sound and sustained economic policies
had resulted in Pakistan’s qualification for Morgan Stanley Capital
International (MSCI) Emerging Markets Index.
The President hoped that reclassification of Pakistan Index
by MSCI would further open up the country’s market for both domestic and foreign investment as Pakistan offers liberal and friendly investment opportunities.
President Mamnoon expressed confidence that this would not
only boost national economy but also raise the country’s economic standing in the international markets.
