ISLAMABAD, Jan 5 (APP):President Dr Arif Alvi Saturday said the culture of research should be promoted in all medical educational institutions and underlined that the federal and provincial governments should work in complete liaison to provide relief to masses. 
He said all the issues being faced by these institutions including De'Montmorency College of Dentistry should be resolved on priority basis in order to ensure quality education to the students. The president was talking to Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid who called on him here, a press release said. 
	The president emphasised that provision of quality medical care to the people was one of the foremost duty of the government.
	The medical sector had been facing numerous challenges which needed to be resolved on the priority basis, he added. 
	He underscored that stunting, malnutrition and inadequate child spacing were hampering the healthy growth of their children while high infant mortality rate in the country was also very alarming. 
	Moreover, several problems could be resolved by focusing on the principles of hygiene and prevention, he added.
