President for ensuring best practices in health sector

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday emphasized that best standards and practices needed to be ensured in the health sector.

He underscored the need for providing incentives to the doctors to serve in the rural areas so that the people could have access to medical facilities.

The President said this while talking to a delegation of National University of Medical Sciences which headed by its Vice Chancellor Lt Gen Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed, called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, according to a press release issued by the President’s Media Wing.

On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor gave a detailed and comprehensive presentation to the President with regard to future plans for further raising the level of academic excellence in the university and the endeavours to carve out a niche for itself in the realm of medical education.

The President expressed the hope that with the establishment of National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) there would be more progress in the field of health and more opportunities for acquiring medical education and conducting research.

He expressed his keen interest in promoting quality education which was accessible to all across the country.

The President assured of his cooperation and support in the university’s future initiatives and efforts.
