President felicitates Muslim community, nation on advent of Ramadan

ISLAMABAD, May 6 (APP):President Dr Arif Alvi on Monday congratulated the Muslim community and Pakistanis on the advent of holy month of Ramadan.
In his message to the nation, he said Allah Almighty had given the Muslims an opportunity to take full benefits from the generosities and blessings of this month.
The president said Allah Almighty has ordained fasting for the Muslims to achieve self-transformation. Self-transformation means to pass through a thorny path cautiously, a believer had to live a life in accordance with the commandments of the Almighty Allah, he said. The president said the holy month of Ramadan taught Muslims to live a cautious life.
The president said on the advent of Ramadan the nation should pledge to exterminate all obstacles facing the national progress, peace and prosperity with full resolve. He said the nation must keep remembering those valiant martyrs who had laid down their
lives for the country’s peace. Alive nations never forgot their martyrs’ sacrifices, he added.
The president said the present government had started its journey in the right direction for peace and progress of the nation and would achieve the set targets of development soon. He urged the nation to make joint efforts in that regard.
The president prayed to Allah Almighty to grant discipline, unity, tolerance, religious harmony, affection, brotherhood and human well being to the nation.
