​President felicitates Egyptian leadership on National Day; reaffirms stronger ties

President Zardari said that Pakistan highly valued its relations with Egypt and remained committed to further strengthening this partnership for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.

ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP): ​President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday extended warmest felicitations to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and the people of Egypt on their National Day, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.

​The president, in a statement, said that Pakistan and Egypt enjoyed close and cordial relations, rooted in shared values, mutual trust and long-standing bonds of friendship.

He noted that the two countries have maintained a tradition of cooperation and understanding, both bilaterally and in multilateral forums, and continue to work closely on issues of common interest. ​

The growing cooperation between the two nations across diverse fields including trade, investment, education, culture, defence and people-to-people exchanges is very encouraging, the president remarked.

He appreciated the fact that the leadership of both countries had actively coordinated for the resolution of the recent regional conflict and expressed confidence that the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt would continue to deepen in the years ahead, while contributing to regional harmony, sustainable development and greater economic opportunity.
