ISLAMABAD, May 6 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi Thursday empowered the session courts to hear the rape cases, under the Anti Rape (Investigation and Trial) Ordinance.
According to the ordinance, the session courts would hear the rape cases till the formation of special courts.
The president made the decision of empowering the session courts, after consultation with the chief justice of Pakistan, a President House statement said.
