President, DPM extend condolences to China and Nepal over flood losses

ISLAMABAD, Aug 27 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday extended their deepest condolences to the leadership and people of China and Nepal over the tragic loss of lives and destruction due to flash floods and landslides that struck their border region.

In a condolence message on the official X wall of the President of Pakistan, the president said the immense loss of precious lives and the many still missing were a tragedy of profound magnitude. “Pakistan shares the grief of its Chinese and Nepali brothers and sisters during this hour of sorrow,” he said.

He saluted the bravery and dedication of search and rescue teams operating under extreme conditions and said Pakistan stands ready to extend every possible support to assist the relief efforts.

The president said his thoughts and prayers are with all those who have lost loved ones, and he prayed for the safe return of the missing.

In a separate message on his X wall, DPM/FM, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed his deep sorrow and grief on the tragic flash floods and landslides in China and Nepal, which have claimed precious lives and left many still missing.

“Pakistan stands in solidarity with our Chinese and Nepali brothers and sisters in this hour of grief and offers all possible support and assistance in the wake of this profound tragedy. We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and salute the courage of the rescue teams working tirelessly under difficult conditions,” he said.
